Welcome Fall! It's a great time of year. The weather is getting nice and cool and the children are becoming well adjusted to our Kindergarten routine. Thank you for all of your continued support. Be sure to check Class Dojo for class news and photographs.

I am so happy to have met all of my new K-214 friends. The first two days have run smoothly and I look forward to an amazing year!~ Thank you for sending in all needed supplies and forms but most of all, thank you for preparing your child so well for school. You are your child's first teacher and you've done a great job!

Thank you so very much for the kind birthday wishes and thoughtful gifts. The best gift I have gotten is the love of your beautiful children.

Welcome back to School. I hope you all had a nice Spring Break. The children shared stories today about some of the things that they did during the break. Listening to others is an important courtesy that we enjoy each day. We also try to strengthen our conversations by not just listening but asking questions as well. Sometimes we ask "Can you tell me more?" to encourage our conversations to grow. You should try  this at home as well. You'll be amazed at how much more your child will have to say!

Our next rip will be to Alley Pond Environmental Center on May 1st!

April showers bring May flowers! It also brings new things to learn! We've started a unit of "How To Writing" during Writing Workshop and are sharing our knowledge of how to do things step by step.We are on to our second Math book (volume 2) where we will tackle  concepts such as count numbers to 20, compose and decompose numbers 11-19, count numbers to 100, and classify and analyze shapes. In Word Work we will learn about digraphs and long vowel sounds. In Reading, we will continue to use our reading strategies to help move us forward and we will learn to find key details within a text to help build understanding. We are getting smarter and smarter each and everyday in each and every way!
